8 Tips to Create More Content, Faster
As a content creator and entrepreneur, you already have a lot going on. Whether you’re juggling your business, family, friends, or a million and one other responsibilities, finding time and space to create can be a big challenge.
But what if there was a way to produce more content without spending hours every day working on it? Well, you’re in luck.
In this post, we’ll share some easy-to-follow content creation tricks to help you produce high-quality content faster. These tried and tested strategies are inspired by Stu McLaren and his book Predictable Profits. They will help you save time, get organized, and make the content creation process way more manageable.
Ready? Let’s dive in!
1. Batch Create Your Content
The first trick to creating content more efficiently is to batch produce it. Batch production means setting aside one day (or a few hours) to create a lot of content all at once. This can help you avoid feeling like you have to create content every single day.
For example, let’s say you’re making videos about different tips for growing a hobby garden. Instead of making a video every day or every week, pick one day to sit down and record multiple videos at once.
This is exactly what we do at Membership.io.
Our content team will work behind the scenes to create a whole bunch of scripts for Instagram Reels. Then, they block off a time on the calendar and coordinate with our video producer. By the end of the day, they’re able to record a month’s worth of content that they can schedule over time.
Batching your content allows you to plan ahead, take a break, and have content ready to go. It also gives you extra time to focus on other parts of your business.
Quick Tip: Plan your content for two to three months. This gives you a buffer and reduces the stress of having to come up with new ideas every week.
2. Keep Your Content Short, Sweet And To The Point
People’s attention spans are shorter than ever, which means that creating long, drawn-out content might not be the best way to keep your audience engaged. Instead, create shorter, easily digestible content that gives your audience quick wins or actionable tips.
For example, if you’re making a video, try to keep it under 10 minutes instead of a 60-minute video. This will make it easier for people to finish the video, and they’re more likely to come back for more.
By creating bite-sized content, you’re making it easier for your audience to consume and engage with your content. Remember, your goal is to make content that helps your audience take action and make progress in small, manageable steps.
Once you have their attention as a loyal fan, you can make it longer-form.
Quick Tip: If you already have longer videos or articles, break them into shorter segments so your audience can consume it in smaller chunks.
3. Make It Natural with Off-Camera Questions
Talking to a camera can feel awkward. But there’s an easy way to make the process feel more natural and less intimidating, and it’s super simple. To cut out the awkwardness, have someone ask you questions while you record.
This will make the process more like a conversation and less like you’re talking to yourself.
Don’t have anyone there? You can use Zoom or any other video tool to set up a recording session where someone asks you questions. This method will make your answers sound more natural, and it will speed up the process, too.
Here’s a simple trick to make your videos even easier to produce: after someone asks you a question, repeat it in your answer. For example, if the question is, “What’s the best way to grow tomatoes in my hobby garden?" you would respond by saying, “The best way to grow tomatoes in your hobby garden is…”
This saves you time and makes your content more engaging.
4. Repurpose Your Content
Repurposing content is one of the easiest ways to create more without doing extra work.
Repurposing means taking one piece of content and using it in multiple ways across different platforms. For example, let’s say you recorded a video. You can turn the audio into a podcast episode, write a blog post using the video transcript, or share short clips of the video on social media.
We use this strategy all the time. For instance, if we record a video, we’ll use software to help us turn it into an audio version, a transcript, and even social media captions. This way, we get the most out of each piece of content we create, and it helps us reach people in different places.
Quick Tip: Focus on creating one type of content, then repurpose it in multiple formats. You can turn videos into podcasts, blog posts, Instagram captions, and more. If you're comfortable on video, then that’s the best place to start.
5. Make Your Content Evergreen
Evergreen content is content that doesn’t get outdated. It stays relevant over time, no matter when someone watches or reads it.
Instead of creating content around a specific event or time-sensitive topic, focus on timeless topics that will always be helpful to your audience. For example, a video on “how to grow tomatoes in your garden” will be just as useful today as it will be in five years.
Avoid using phrases like “right now” or referencing current events that could make your content feel outdated. The goal is to create content that remains helpful and valuable to your audience over time.
Quick Tip: Is there a time and place for trending content? Absolutely! The beauty of having a library and buffer of evergreen content will remove the pressure of feeling like you have to jump on every trend.
6. What’s Old Is New Again: Refresh Old Content
Repurposing isn’t just about taking new content and using it in different ways. It’s also about going back to your older content and giving it a fresh update.
You likely already have a library of great content that you can update and reuse. Maybe you have blog posts, videos, or social media posts that still have valuable information. By refreshing them with new insights, examples, or stories, you can repurpose them and bring them back into the spotlight.
7. Repost Successful Content
Don’t be afraid to repost content that performed well in the past. Social media platforms don’t show your content to everyone who follows you, so reposting helps get it in front of a wider audience.
And even if your audience saw it, they probably forgot about it!
When you find a post hits with your audience, save it and plan to repost it later. Space it out by 30 days or more so that your audience doesn’t feel like they’re seeing the same thing over and over again.
The more you repost content that works, the more you’ll get out of it.
Think of it like this: when you go to a concert, you expect to hear the hits. If Taylor Swift didn’t play “Anti-Hero,” the crowd would be bummed out. Similarly, when you repost your best content, you’re giving your audience what they want again and again!
8. Use AI to Speed Up Content Creation
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful tool for creating content faster. It can help you generate ideas, write captions, and even create blog posts. By using AI tools, you can speed up the content creation process and focus your energy on the parts that matter most.
For example, you can use AI to:
- Generate content ideas for a specific topic
- Outline short or long form content
- Write catchy headlines or hooks
- Create social media captions
- Repurpose transcripts into different pieces of content
- Edit, refresh or improve content
- Create visual assets for your content
AI can help you get the creative juices flowing and allow you to create more in less time.
